I am proud to announce that Jad has finally learned his numbers without much mix-up. I know some kids learn them sooner (and some even later), but hey, he’s 2 and does everything at his pace and his pace only.

With that said, I know you are dying to know my secret to teaching a stubborn little boy. Well, here it is…

Yes, I can hear your gasps about how video games are horrible (especially for a 2 yr old).  But do you see that little number in the bottom left?  It changes throughout the game.  Yesterday, while Jonah took a nap, Jad asked to play, or should I say watch me play and him ‘pretend’.  It had been a rough day with Jonah, so I caved. As we played, that number kept changing and all of a sudden Jad shouts out 6!  5!  4! 3! 2! 1!

I was so very proud and reassured that video games will not ruin his life.

So I’m curious, What are the unique ways your children have overcome milestones?

Is it ok to take advantage of living in Redneck Country?

Jon and I were both fixing dinner and Jadon wanted to go back outside after he changed out of his swimsuit.

It has to be inherited…

Sorry for the blog break. Life has been beyond busy. We officially slowed down for the first time tonight and took little Jad to see Disney Pixar’s Up 3D. Once I got past the *gasp* $11 fee for a two year old (who refused to wear the glasses anyway), I really enjoyed the movie.

We were about halfway through the movie, and all of a sudden I hear a (as Jon would say) *rat-tat-tat-tat* coming from Jon and Jad. I immediately hit Jon, and he tells me it was Jad. Now, before I proceed, let me inform you that both of my boys can pack some heat, but this was loud and long and it just kept on going. I couldn’t imagine it coming from my little guy.

A bit later Jad switched seats to sit with me and of course, during the quietest (I’m talking, dead silence) part of the movie I, and the rest of the theater, hear about seven loud consecutive *rat-tat-tat’s*. The teens sitting at the end of our row start laughing and really don’t know what to think, and I’m looking to blame Jon, but all I can do is die laughing. And the more I laugh, the more Jad rips them.

I remember a time when it was my husband doing these things to make me laugh and see other’s reactions.  I asked Jad where he learned to do that and he said “Daddy”  I’m not sure Jon is even that good.  It has to be in the boys blood.

I bought Jad a bucket of sidewalk chalk a few weeks ago and he loved it.  His imagination has taken him everywhere and he has drawn everything from choo choo’s to Mickey Mouse’s Club House.  He can even draw Mommy, Daddy, and Bubba.  I know you are dying to see my little prodigy’s works of art, so, of course, I have pictures to show you…

See those lines ||| ?  I asked Jad what he was drawing and he told me “Choo Choo.” The next set was “Mickey Mouse”, and the next a “house.” and finally he drew “Mickey Mouse Club House”  (Yes, I am very proud)

Next, Jad decided to expand his art canvas to the porch mat…

But it didn’t stop there…

The Garage door

The Van

The Inside of the Van

At least that was just sidewalk chalk.  It all came off with ease. Here is my newest discovery… (and no, it is not sidewalk chalk)

Here is the innocent one.  Hmm.

What was your child’s first word?  Or if you do not have children, what would you assume a child’s first word would be?  Most of you moms would roll your eyes and say his/her first word was “Da Da,” and then there are the few happy mothers out there who heard their name first.

Not my son.  His first words were “Arf, Arf.”  Yes, he rocked back and forth on all fours barking.  There was no “Ma, Ma”  no “Da, Da,” just a high pitch yelp.

With that stated, these pictures should not come as a surprise to you.
